In the KANE newsletter we can read:

After two weeks of recording intensly at the All Aire Studios near Woodstock in upstate New York we finally came back home yesterday. Weird to be out of the country at the time your new single is being released. But this morning we got a text message from Universal with some good news! Catwalk criminal, our new single, has reached the #2 position in the Dutch midweek chart. That’s amazing! But a real chart entry hasn’t been made… we’re counting on FRIDAY! And we can already say we’re really really close to that magical #1 position.

If enough Dutch fans buy the single before Friday the guys can make it to that #1 position. Hope they got that champagne on ice...

Sterling Campbell and Gail Ann Dorsey are collaborating with the guys on the new KANE album. Both play alongside David Bowie on stage. Drummer Campbell is known for his work with Duran Duran, Soul Asylum, B-52's, Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop, Tina Turner and Lou Reed. Bassist Dorsey played alongside Gwen Stefani, Bryan Ferry, Tears For Fears and Skin.

KANE is currently recording their new album at the All Aire Studios in New York’s Catskill Mountains. The new album is expected to be in stores in a few months. The first single of the album 'Catwalk crminal' is in stores as of tomorrow.

A few days after Belgian tv-presenter Chris Duchauchoit made an emotional appeal to polticians in Belgium regarding the BBC-documentairy ‘Bulgaria’s abandoned children’ there we see Dinand Woesthoff of Dutch rockband KANE joining forces to raise awareness for the inhuman living conditions of these abandoned children. Dinand called upon several Dutch politicians by writing them emails to start immediate action against Bulgaria. After watching the BBC-television documentairy ‘Bulgaria’s abandoned children‘, Woesthoff (still recording in Amerika) send out emails to Jan Marijnissen from the Dutch SP party and Femke Halsema of the Dutch GroenLinks party. In the documentairy it’s shown how handicapt together with poor children are being cared for in dreadfull conditions in an orphanage in Bulgaria. The GroenLinks party has already started debats on this topic and started an online-petition against the inhuman conditions in orphans’ homes like these. The party will hand over the results of the petitions to the European Union.

Dennis wrote an update on the KANE hyves today:

OK, 6 hours time difference means you’re having your birthday but then again you ain’t. You’re turning a year older but you can postpone this four about six hours. Because we’re in New York. GMT -5. Seriously I was kinda bummed with it. Usualy it’s waking up with breakfast in bed at home you know. And this time I was woken up by a phonecall from dj Giel Beelen. That’s no shit. But the day turned out really awesome. All day long I got text messages with congratulations and really wicked shout outs on hyves and myspace. Then there were gifts from Nico and Dinand and even some people of the recordcompany paid me a visit. Spoiled myself with a new guitar (a mindblowing firebird 1976, my year of birth) and went out for dinner (Japanese) in Manhattan. New York ain’t that bad. Each and everyone of you thanks for the congratulations! Far from home yet feels so close! Thanks, really feel you!

Tomorrow we’ll be back in action. Back to the All Aire Studios in Woodstock. Record a song and a lot of guitars and some vocals. So looking forward to that! Nico stayed a little longer and he’s - like us – in a real New York state of mind. If I can get my hands on the right cable tomorrow I might be able to show you guys what we’re up to here. From Universal Music we got following: KANE’s CATWALK CRIMINAL is in – Dutch and Belgian - stores. He will be available as 2-track with the heavy remix KILLER ON THE CATWALK. And as multitrack with an instrumental version of CATWALK CRIMINAL and a CATWALK SEDUCTION FEVER-remix. Also added to this multi track single is the official video for windows & mac. CATWALK CRIMINAL and the remixes are also available on iTUNES. 

The KANE guys are bussy recording their new album at the moment and adding stuff to their official KANE Hyves, Myspace and Youtube pages.

So the kick ass guitarist from Rotterdam with that in your face attitude, sexy wife and – yeah we’re getting emotional here - golden heart celebrates his birthday today… So. In a new update on the Dutch KANE hyves Dinand wrote this:

Fuck…. freezing here! Nice blue sky, views go on to Canada with frozen lakes and tones of snow. Walking in a winter wonderland is what hey call this I think. We’re back in Woodstock. Home of many but also the All Aire Studios. In the next few days we’ll finish of drum, bass and basic recordigs. Nope not quite finished yet. Long way to go. Heading there. That’s for sure. Far from home. In the middle of nowhere, in one of the nicest studios we’ve ever been. Catwalk Criminal has been released today. For now online and on Friday in stores. Feels kinda weird. I’m writing this from a room overviewing the mountains while back at home the single is being released. Hope you’ll download it or go out and buy it on Friday. Just saying that ‘because we’re so proud of it. This is KANE in 2008. Every time I play Catwalk I’m thinking ‘I wanna be in that band!’ Which is good ‘because they tell me I am ha, ha.And we could use your support. We’ve decided to take KANE to the edge. Where’s the excitement in us, that unknown thing, that you know has been there all along? Ha, ha, that’s in a way the definition of the next KANE record…number 4. How do we take it to the next level? With you guys at our side, we hope. So we try to create the best tracks. Which will be released on single. So you just gotta download ( uh uh not on limewire ha, ha) the new single or get it at your local (Dutch) store on Friday.

From Woodstock, to Catwalk, to you. Think it’s time I shut up. For now ha, ha.

We read about it in an earlier update from the guys but now it’s really here: the Official KANE YouTube channel. Their very own moviechannel where visitors – in no time – will find all their videoclips and… enjoy Dennis’ legendary creative recordings on the road , in the studio, on the catwalk, in between gigs. We're doing just fine thanks. Exciting days for us now CATWALK CRIMINAL the first single of the new album was released on Dutch radio, on-line and Dutch tv on the 1th of January. No more working in the background on the new tracks, we got full exposure. The kick-off came at 10 minutes past midnight and working our asses off in New York to get everything finished on time. CATWALK CRIMINAL is , as you've noticed by now, a single that's got a totally new sound. Takes a bit of getting used to? Yeah sure does. Just listen to the track a few times, let it sink in. We're proud as hell of CAT WALK CRIMINAL and both Dennis and me got that 'damn I wanna be in that band' -feeling. Hope you feel it to. We also hope you feel the lay-outs/feel of the sites and new singles. For KANE it's a totally new flow, new inspiration. Same for you?

Our weekend was BooYah great and we sure hope yours as well…But enough about us…back to business sexy…

Early this morning Dinand and Dennis payed a visit to Dutch radio 3FM to talk to dj Giel. After a long time our friends from KANE dropped by to say Hi to Giel. Dinand and Dennis came to talk about their new album. And Giel surprised them with an exclusive: the awesome ‘Catwalk Criminal’ remix made by dj Roland Molendijk. Clearly it was a bit scary for them to hear the track for the first time live on the radio but no worries the guys like it Roland… Next to waking up listeners with their remixes Dinand and Dennis also mentioned that next to the huge concert at the Rotterdam Kuip there also will be some try-out gigs at Dutch venues. In addition they mentioned foreign fans will get a chance to visit a KANEconcert (for sure BELGIAN fans) and enjoy some of the MaYhEm from these gentlemen as they still want to do some exciting things abroad… After visiting Giel they guys are back on their way to The Big Apple to finish the new album which might be in strores as soon as April Dinand concluded the conversation.
